LONDON, Jan 24 (Reuters) - British foreign minister Liz Truss said on Monday that progress needed to be made in "short order" with the European Union to solve post-Brexit Northern Irish trading challenges.

"I'm absolutely determined to protect political stability and peace in Northern Ireland," Truss said.

"I want to work constructively with the EU to be able to achieve that and we need to do it in short order," Truss added, saying there had been progress in talks she had held with European Commission Vice-President Maros Sefcovic.
