LONDON, Jan 13 (Reuters) - Britain recorded 109,133 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, down from 129,587 on Wednesday and nearly 24% lower over the last 7 days compared to the week before.
The number of deaths within 28 days of a positive test reported on Thursday was 335, down from 398 on Wednesday. Deaths in the last 7 days were up 67% compared to a week earlier, likely reflecting a spike in cases over the Christmas period. (Reporting by William James; Editing by Kate Holton)
