Medair Appoints New International Director

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lausanne, Switzerland, March 14, 2016 - Medair has announced the appointment of US-national Ms. Jules L. Frost as its new International Director. Jules started on March 1, and is succeeding Mark Screeton, who is returning to the United Kingdom after 5 years in the position and 17 years at Medair.

Jules Frost joins us from World Vision International (WVI) where she has worked 21 years in numerous roles, most lately as the Senior Advisor for Civil-Military and Police Relations. “As a humanitarian, I am thrilled to be joining Medair, an agile organization committed to serving the most vulnerable in some of the hardest to reach places on the globe.  As someone who has worked with a multi-mandated organization for many years, I was attracted to Medair given its clear focus on emergency response and recovery. I am pleased to be working with the committed staff and look forward to contributing to the continuing success of Medair.” Jim Ingram, Medair’s CEO, says about the transition: “We are very sad to see Mark go and are thankful for his many years of dedicated service. Jules joins us from an internationally-renowned agency and brings a wealth of experience, expertise and connections that will be vital to our ability to deliver humanitarian aid effectively and safely. We are thrilled to welcome her on board.”

During her 21 years at WVI, Jules held key operational roles with portfolios in East Africa, Middle East, Eastern Europe, and the Asian Tsunami response. She served as the Director of Emergency Response and Disaster Mitigation for World Vision USA, and later served as the Head of Innovative Partnerships in Australia. In 2009, Jules became the Senior Director of Strategic Projects and Finance for World Vision International’s (WVI) 67 field offices worldwide.

Over the past five years, Jules’ leadership has transformed WVI into a leading authority on civil-military relations. Developing senior military relations with UN, NATO, and other armed forces, she pioneered joint-training relationships and operational guidelines that have had had a major influence across the humanitarian and military sectors.
