Trafficked, unaccompanied, migrant, in street situation, kidnapped, forced to displacement, refugees, asylum seekers, nomadic… Children on the move represent a major and increasing challenge in terms of child rights and child protection. A growing complex reality, that get little adequate public solutions so far, if not harmful solutions for children.
Millions of children around the world are on the move. They lost home. They are escaping poverty, violence or disaster. They may end up exploited or abused.

This EU Public Event is organised with the support of the Group of the Alliance of the Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) and hosted by Nathalie Griesbeck, Member of the European Parliament.
Starting from the view and testimony of Farah Abdi Abdullahi (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJH6-rKKBtw), a 18 years old guy who migrated from Somalia to Malta, the conference will raise awareness on the reality of children on the move in the light of EU responses.
Speakers include European Commissioner for Home Affairs Cecilia Malmström, a panel of Members of the European Parliament, the EU Presidency. The International Federation of Terre des Hommes (http://www.terredeshommes.org) will present a state of play of the children on the move realities and its International Campaign Destination Unknown(http://destination-unknown.org).
