Programme   Officer WASH and Gender

Based in Beira,   Mozambique

1 year   contract

CAFOD is one   of the UK’s leading relief and development agencies. We are looking for a Programme Officer with   regional knowledge and experience who can work in partnership with local   organisations in complex political environments to help us translate our   plans for development and justice into reality.

 

Working as   part of the Mozambique team you will be responsible to support local partners   in developing and implementing actions   related to improved access to water and sanitation and in the development of their   understanding and incorporation of gender into their programmes. We are   seeking an enthusiastic individual with extensive experience of working in   programmes of WASH, and with a keen understanding of gender mainstreaming. You will have proven experience in WASH   programming, programme cycle management, writing proposals and assessing   reports, strategic planning and capacity building of local partners in the   relevant sector.

 

You will have a commitment to working in   partnership, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills   enabling you to build and hold relationships with a broad range of people in   various cultural contexts. You will have fluent   written and spoken English and Portuguese.
